Fighting between Yemen’s government forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels in the southwest escalated, with the death toll rising to more than 300 on Sunday. Saudi-backed government officials said 84 troops were killed between midday Saturday and early Sunday, mostly in missile attacks, while Houthi sources reported 57 rebel fighters killed in the same period. Hundreds of families fled Maqbanah and Jabal Habashi in Taiz governorate to Al-Bareen camp for the internally displaced.
