Summary: In the mid-1960s, a Lockheed YF-12A flying at Mach 3.2 and about 75,000 feet fired an AIM-47 Falcon at a QB-47 drone flying roughly 500 feet above the ground and hit it. The engagement used the Hughes AN/ASG-18 look-down, shoot-down radar against a target described as lost in ground clutter.
