USF students developed syp, a silicone sleeve that turns a reusable water bottle into a hydration tracker. The sleeve weighs the bottle before and after drinking and sends intake data to an app, which personalizes goals using users’ personal information, workouts, temperature and wearable-device data. The idea followed a former USF soccer player’s severe dehydration episode.
