A woman suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries Friday when a vehicle struck her as she crossed at Gay Street and Summit Hill Drive in downtown Knoxville. Police said the driver was turning left onto Summit Hill Drive and told officers they did not see her in time to avoid the collision. Emergency responders treated her at the scene and took her for further medical care.
