Oklahoma man charged over powder-filled letters

Federal authorities charged Robin Patrick Martin, 67, with mailing more than 700 envelopes containing white powder to public officials and media outlets ahead of the 2024 and 2026 elections. The charges include conveying false or misleading information and hoaxes, and mailing threatening communications. Authorities said the powder was nontoxic; Martin was arrested Monday and ordered detained pending a Nov. 9 preliminary hearing.
