UN report finds major climate adaptation finance gap

The UN Environment Programme says developing countries will need about $305 billion a year by 2035 to adapt to climate change. Rich countries' collective pledge could reach only $85 billion to $120 billion annually, while current contributions are about $28.2 billion to $31.7 billion; even tripling international public funding would cover less than a third of estimated needs.
