The BriefBrief messaging is available during your free trial and on all paid tiers. Messages are encrypted, ephemeral, and never retained — when you navigate away, they are gone.

• Free Account: You can send and receive messages with paid members, but you are not listed in the member directory and cannot browse other free members. You are not visible in the member directory to other free trial users.
• Tier 1 & Tier 2: Full messaging access — you appear in the member directory and can be discovered and messaged by any other member.

Think of it like a members club — free trial guests can talk to members, but only paid members can find each other in the directory.

Local News

Local updates for your city or region, when available. Tier 2 members get local news matched to the metro area they select.

Archive Search

Search older BriefBrief updates to follow events, confirm details, or review how stories developed over time. Tier 1 members can view the most recent two weeks. Tier 2 unlocks full Archive Search — everything older than two weeks, with unlimited history.

Profile Customization

Choose the regions and topics you want to follow. If you only want world news about Europe, or only want updates about space launches, you can set it — and your My Feeds dashboard adjusts automatically.
