CRS raises Iran war aircraft loss count to 81

An Oct. 5 Congressional Research Service revision lists 81 U.S. military aircraft lost or damaged in Operation Epic Fury, up from 42 counted in May. The updated total includes aircraft damaged in a September strike on a base in Jordan, helicopter losses and more lost Reaper drones; CRS cautions that some damaged aircraft may have returned to service.
