JCS chief calls DMZ mine blast a provocation

South Korea’s JCS Chairman Gen. Jin Yong-sung said he had always regarded the Sept. 21 mine blast as a North Korean provocation and pledged to review response measures. A joint JCS-U.N. Command investigation concluded that mines deliberately planted by Pyongyang south of the Military Demarcation Line caused the blast, injuring three South Korean soldiers, two seriously.
