National Guardsman injured in shooting in Washington

A National Guardsman was injured in a shooting in the 400 block of 8th Street SE near Eastern Market in Washington late Sunday, the Metropolitan Police Department said. The department said an officer and the attacker were also injured and taken to a hospital. Interim Police Chief Jeffery Carroll said Guardsmen had been monitoring a group when a fight broke out.
